Original Author: Marypistache
This abstract was translated from Terre des Hommes de Saint-Exupéry
Saint-Exupery has been just named airline pilot. He discovers and admires our planet seen of the sky. He ensures the mail
between Toulouse and Dakar but specially serves relations between the men.
It is one of its adventures, him having occurred with its mechanic at the time of one of his flights, which I decided to present to you.
The flying conditions were deplorable and difficult. Whereas they were above the ocean in middle of the night, a downpour had surprised them and Saint-Exupery had much difficult to locate himself. As soon as he saws a light, he tries to use it like reference mark. Unfortunately, the plane ran up against the ground to be crushed a little further. They were left there with more for fear of evil. After recover having recovered from the accident, it inspected the places to try to know where they had landed. They understood, both, very quickly that they had been crushed in full desert and that their only chances of survival were to go until exhaustion. They had decided to fight until the end and not to be let die in spite of crushing heat, the lack of water and the mirages. At this point in time they felt their close end which they transfer of the Bedouins of whom they arrived, in an ultimate effort, to point out them and which by miracle transfer them and saved the life thus to them. This history points out the importance of water to us and that the man is ready to use of unsuspected resources for his survival
