The Da Vinci Code: An
Excellent Example

By Snehsudha Misra

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is a glued trap for a young tyro reader who has just deserted the children’s books and started reading novels, a mind blowing adventure enriched with highly interesting information for a veteran book lover and a cornucopia for a professional critic. The book is for the people who look forward for some appetizer for their hungry brain while entertaining their thirsty heart through elegant thrills in the pages of a novel.

However, The Da Vinci Code opens with the perfect curiosity-coated - cloudy climax with the murder of a renowned curator- Jacques Sauniere who dies in the Louvre Museum, Paris leaving behind a lot of puzzles for the brilliant Police Chief Bezu Fache, a Harvard University’s Religious Symbology Professor Dr. Robert Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu to be struggle with. While they de-mask the truth bit by bit in their separate methods pacing perfectly with the onward journey of the night in to the dawn the reader also pockets many interesting information on famous people and objects of history those were always very familiar but never explored to this extend!

In the forward page of the book the author claims The Priory of Sion and The Opus Dei, two secret organizations formed and existed till today since 1099 as two ‘facts’ of the history! In the entire book these two organizations crawl forward with such clever and clandestine skill chasing each other and revolving the above trio around them in such a manner that the real victim- the poor reader whether veteran or fresh find it much difficult to leave the book for a moment and return to the waiting daily real schedule ! Brilliant twists, strange interpretations, shocking information about renowned people and their work all are etched enough artistically in this creation of Dan Brown to turn it into a classic of all times.

Finally and most importantly, for many readers this is a fine book to prescribe or present to all the dear ones including the teenage children in your family or young students in your class with out any hesitation, as this marvelous work piece is far away from any erotic descriptions. Those who consider without such erotic explanations no book can face the competitive market; Da Vinci Code is the excellent example to establish the truth.
