Examine the translation of the line "I should not see the sandy hour glass run"
W.Turner translates
the line as "I could not see the sand run from one half of the hour glass into another.
Roma Gill is seen to be explaining the concept, the use, and the purpose of the hour glass with structural details exhaustively employing some pictorial presentation.
But do you find these two explaining what precise purpose Shakespeare had in mind while employing this hour glass and the running of the sand and what is intended to be conveyed by Shakespeare? I don’t think so.
According to me the line "I shall not see the sandy hour glass run" should amount to mean "I should not waste time".
However you be the better judge.
