TRADING CENTRE
Today, Jodhpur ,
with its population exceeding 10 lakh is the second largest city of Rajasthan. It still fulfils its historical role as the area's main trading centre for wood, cattels, camels, and agricultural crops. It is like any other town drowned with busy and dusty streets and blind alleys but what makes it different is its handicrafts and the
colourful people.
The lifestyle in Jodhpur is unusally fascinating, with folks wearing lovely, multi hued costumes, artistically designad, Women folk wear wide gathered skirts and a hip
length jackets with three quarter length sleeves , covering the front and back. The colourful turbans worn by the menfolk add more colour to the city.
It was from here that the popularly - worm, baggy-tight horse riding trousers, Jodhpuris' took their name. There are many places to see in and around Jodhpur. But there are some sites which a tourist cannot afford to miss.
