Little Women

Article Review by: RPS

Original Author: Louisa May Alcott
A beautiful and heart warming story of the March family, their trials, tribulations, happiness and sorrow, their simple lives
and that of those they eventually meet, their learnings and yearnings and the happy beginning of a new life ahead at the end of the story make it a lively reading. As one reads along one finds parallels to one's life in so many ways. Whether it is the selfish thinking of Amy when she tries to spend less on a Christmas gift for her mother so she can spend on something for herself or Meg's confused reaction to the rich and colourful lives of the Gardiner's or Moffat's, Jo's headstrong attitude or Beth's sweet and nice mannerisms, the book touches everyone in some way or the other. Laurie's boyish charms, Mrs. March's kind nature, Mr.Lawrence's strict demeanour all bring to life people we have met at some point of time or other. A lovely book for a good lazy afternoon.
