There is a secret door called the “Gump” under Platform 13 at the Kings Cross Station and it opens every nine years. When it opens four mysterious figures come through it to find their kingdom’s long-lost prince who was stolen as a baby when the Gump opened last.
But, the prince has become a rich and spoilt nine year old boy called Raymond Trottle and he is not willing to be rescued and taken back to his kingdom.
The plot was completely unbelievable as there were some fictional characters/animals in the book that were uncommon and I’d never heard of. For example, one of the fictional animals was the mistmaker. I had never heard of an animal like the mistmaker who produced mist at the sound of music.
I would recommend this book to children who like fiction/fantasy stories which have completely new and different fictional characters in them. This book is extraordinary as it has many attention-grabbing ideas and characters.
