complex is a psychological term,after reading "sons and lovers" by D.H lawrence i could clearly understand the meaning
behind .A very strange relationship between a son and his mother where son loves no other women except his mother and the mother is equally obsessive about her son.she wants her son all to herself.psychologically overdependence upon his mother makes the protagonist of the novel paul morel unable to love any other women.the novel is centered around this main issue where paul morel is torn by a conflict between his love for miriam a young lady and his strong desire to please his mother who dislikes mirriam and the real cause for this hatred is that miriam would take away paul from her.Mrs morels death too couldnt shatter his love for her and always asked himself wether his mother was really dead???his mind answered that she had simply changed the place of residence from this world to another.he felt that his soul could never leave her .
