Anthologie serve a great purpose for unknown writers who want to get regonition, but at what cost. You get to enter
a free poetry contest and the chances of winning the grand prize is very slim. It's a numbers game, like the lottery,
you win by luck. You get published, but if you want to see you work in print, you have to pay for the book. Then when you pay for the book, they ask you to buy a beautiful wooden plaque to put your poem on or they send you invitations in the mail offering you trips to Washington, D.C. to a poerty conference honoring you, but you have to pay at least five hundred dollars up front for the expense and cost of the conference not to mention the cost you have to pay to get there. They're sure no going to pay for it.
Anthologies are rip-off scams to make these poetry societies rich and the writers poor. That sounds discouraging but it's true. There's still hope for writers, they must keep on writing and searching for the right
publisher. A publisher that' going to pay the writer instead of the writer
paying the publisher. But in the meantime writers must continue to keep searching for that perfect publisher, because one day all their hard work will pay off. That goes for anything you try to achieve in life. It takes confidence
a positive attitude and hard work. I'm a writer myself and I've been a victim of reject slips and told that my wrting was
poor, but I keep searching and looking for the publisher who will like my work and work with me to make it a success. I've also been a victim to anthologies, yes I fell for their scams too. I got tired of racking out dollars just
to get nothing back in return and I've lost so many poetry contest. Oh, I won The Editor's Choice Award. But that was nothing. My advice to all writers, do not fall for anthologies or scams from places like "Famous Poet Society."
It's one the biggest scams on the internet. So Keep on writing, one day you will find a publishing home.
