MY THOUGHTS IN SOLITUDE

Book Review by: jothish nair

Original Author: JOTHISH NAIR
MY THOUGHTS IN SOLITUDE
During monsoon, in my native state, the river overflows and conquers the virgin banks. The banks
grwon dense with green grass would be eaten up by the frenzied river. The grass hoppers and the small frogs would be washes away and carried through the rivers journey.
The once clear and limpid waters would look shabby and dirty, and once which flowed with a buzzing sound soothing the ears, now scares one with its rumpus. Many things are carried by the river on its way...branches,chappals,broken buckets,,,,,and so on..
The monsoon always bring back the old memories,.''the reminescence''..As some one said, "Each time one see anything special happen in ones life, one tends to relate with his/her good memories. During monsoon the water in the cannals and ducts starts flowing in one direction helped by the declivities and as kids we rejoiced. we sailed our paper boats on it and  watched its progression. We wrote things on the boat concerning certain people who live on the other side of the region, imagining that these boats would reach them and they would read those matters we have written...and we laugh among ourselves imagining their plight. It was major activity for us......well now..sitting alone in a dark room...I  enjoy those memories as if Iam watching in a movie.
