„Opentaniec” was the most
spectacular dance show In the Music Theatre in Gdynia in 2003. Jaroslaw Staniek, who has a huge experience attributable to choreography and out of body movements, directed it. This show was the amazing mixture of fascinating dance,
expressive music and many special effects.
“Opentaniec” show us a beautiful Slavic legend – “Ferris flower”, which are about two persons who are in love and experiences its apogee during Midsummer Day. One of the main characters finds a beautiful flower and possessed by dance he leaves his friends and forgets about the most important values. Moreover, undergoing by illusion of amazing flower he is happy but enslaved. His girlfriend and the closest friends try to liberate him from this situation and emotions through music and dance.
The spectacle was extraordinary. The superb staging introduced very interesting climate for observers. The show includes many styles of dance, from ballet to contemporary dance, with elements of jazz dance, so it was not boring. It provides good entertainment and makes it admirable. Adam Sztaba, who is one of the best and the most known music artist in Poland, so it was also very good, composed the music. Dancers’ movements reflect its expressive rhythm and feelings. The only thing, which I do not like, was that it lasts too shortly.
Overall, this is a real masterpiece. In my opinion, “Opentaniec” may furnish many attractions for many people.
