Terrorism, Not Just For Terrorists Anymore

Book Review by: LALattanzio

Terrorism, Isn''t Just For Terrorists Anymore
Ever since the 9/11 attacks on the Wold Trade Center back in 2001, people
have been afraid to fly both in and out of the United States. We have become paralyzed by the fear that something may happen to us. Therefore, we no longer fly unless we really have to.
The terrorists may not have brought down our financial district like they had wanted to. However, they did succeed in crippling most of us because most of us now fear what used to be known as the safest way to travel, flying.
I can honestly remember a time about ten or so years ago when every credit card know to man, was offering frequent flyer miles if you opened an account with them. Ever since the tragedy occurred on 9/11 no one has offered it. At least I haven’t heard or seen anything about it since then.
Isn’t it funny though, how we are over seas in Iraq fighting a war that’s supposed to stop the terrorism. But we still keep getting terror threats here at home. There was the plot to get on the army bases of Fort Dix, New Jersey. Then there was also a plot to hurt mass transit in New York. There have been far too many threats to list. So why can’t we keep some more of our troops over here in the United States to help the FBI find the terrorist cells? There are plenty of them here and they’re hard to track down.
The Al-Quadia terrorists aren’t the only ones that we have to worry about. We have kids in cults and gangs to worry about. They are better behaved than the talliban, yes but they still do their best to scare us. Does anyone remember the Columbine shooting, Waco, and the most recent the Virginia Tech shooting? All of it was done by Americans. They were all violent and senseless. It may not be classified as a terrorist offense but in my opinion they were. So then how do we stop this? Has it gone too far? We will never know. We will only have to wait and see if we are making some kind of progress.
I am sure that in the future years, we will somehow find a way to resolve our problems with other countries around the world. Then maybe we could all finally have some peace on earth.
