On a regular day two
women are engrossed in heavy conversation one nods frequently occasionally adding approval, disbelief, judgement and a mild amount of agreement, laughs are shared , moments of friendly arm stroking obvious bonding with a pretty tight connection on display here.
Silence
suddenly takes over the chatting twosome and one may
wonder what was said in that brief period to create such a change of events, the women each forward there gaze towards a man who entered the room, he appearing charming, handsome, somewhat coy and open to the
casual observer, the women keep there eyes forward intently on this man, he shuffles appearing nervous yet not wanting to let it show, the women lock eyes again only this time it’s a different look, they focus on each other as if they were lions waiting for there prey to move so they could pounce, there eyes narrow and not a word of dialogue is spoken, the man puts his thumbs in his pocket in a flirty manner directed towards the women.
The woman nearest the man shifts her seat back never breaking eye contact with her friend who now appears as competition in her eyes, her former friend now turned opponent mirrors her action also shifting her chair back and standing, casual observers begin to glance at the
drama unfolding obviously wondering why all the chat and laughter there eyes were greeted with upon arrival has ended and why suddenly the room is now after changing into a shootout from some 50’s western, all the time were wondering why this
friendship of 15 years has so quickly and casually ended over the slightest hint of interest from the casual everyday man, why compete over
jealousy and loose everything in the process, makes you wonder?
