"The Broker" is another book by world renowned author John Grisham which tells about the story of a power broker or better
known in the United States as a lobbyist named Joel Backman a lawyer who was imprisoned because of an illegal deal gone wrong. His friends and associates in his law firm we're killed because of the deal. He was pardoned by the outgoing
president because the CIA pressured the president. The CIA all along had a hidden agenda. They want to see who will have the interest of killing Backman once he is a freeman so that they will know what countries are involved in the wrong dealings Backman was imprisoned for. The CIA gave Backman a new identity and relocated him to Italy. Then they secretly leaked his identity and location to all those who are interested. The Israelis, Chinese and other countries involved all went for the kill.The book also gives quite a tour and description of some old Italian cities,specifically Padua,Bologna and Milan. A lot of people got killed including a senior
presidential adviser, a former senator and lot more. The chase and hunt started in the US went into Europe and then back to the US. A former president is also investigated because of a possible cash for pardon dealings. Suspense and danger are always present. In the end Backman was only saved because of his ingenious plan and cunning deal with another US intelligence agency. The book is a good one, another typical John Grisham story.
