WOW GOSPEL 2006

Book Review by: okeditse

Original Author: VARIOUS ARTIST
REVIEWNEW CD OUT: WOW GOSPEL CD
When we look at the bible, David was a great music composer, singer and when you read
his book of the psalms, you will see that it is what the gospel music is today. David had a choir and he played well many instruments himself. David couldn't be the only talented singer in the world. There are many Davids today and when you listen to this newly released double CD gospel album called ‘WOW Gospel 2006, you will agree with me the biblical David can't be the only one. The album got variety of artists. It is soul and funk driven and if you are a rap fan there is this piece of Mary Mary called "Save me", and it will take you there to the Promised Land in spirit. Wow gospel 2006 time. When I listened to Marvin Sapp's "Do we know him." I thought of Charlie Wilson and the Gap Band making gospel music. Sometimes life is a one big dark alley way. We find the whole world falling on us with no one to run to, when we lose our beloved, when we are desperate searching for an angel to come from the blues and give us hope. Think about those streets kids, those people who are living in the street without hope and when you listen to Keira "Kiki" Sheard' s "Let Go", you will feel the need of Jesus in our life to succor our soul especial in our trialing times like these. Sometimes we go through things that are beyond our power and only the providence of God through Jesus can set us free and when you listen to Bryon Butler & Levi ‘Set Me Free', you can channel your self with God in spirit and be free in deed. There is this song by Donald Lawrence & Co. featuring Donnie McClurkin called ‘I speak life'. The message in this song is so deep, especial in these times when many people are struggling for their life with Aids monster of death. The brother makes a special big up to South Africa. In the song, he addresses us not to lose another person to a senseless death through substance abuse, gang violence, and suicide. On CD 2 to the Kirk Franklin fans have to put hands up and keep the feet stomping with Tonex & Perculiar People featuring Kirk on ‘Since Jesus Come'. Many of the songs on the CD are recorded in a church like environment with the praisers and you may feel like I wish I was there in the congregation praising the Lord with them. There is this song by Karen Clark-Sheard called ‘Authority'. She reminds us that in Jesus we have the power and authority to overcome the enemy, the devil, especial in times of hard times, sickness, depression, and fear. Through the Holy Ghost we have the power to be whatever we want to be in life. La Shun Pace testifies about the grace of Jesus when she was going through things in her life in ‘for my good'. There is Ben Tankard, also, the man who lost his biggest dream of playing professional basket in NBA after a knee injure but got back in track almost overnight in a revival service. Tankard is blessing us with ‘Jesus is Love' a remake of Lionel Ritchie's classical song in the 70s. Thank you Jesus is what Paul Robbins says in ‘I pray'. She makes a petition to God to hear our prayers for the glory of his name.
