management student who was in quest for an ideal management style, and providence brought him in coincidence with one minute manager, whose management philosophy is premised on three secrets.They are ;
One minute goal setting, which will become effective by(a) writing down your harmonisd goals in behavioural term and should be reviewed at the end of the day (b) read and re-read your goals that are written down in less 250 words.
The second secret says ''catch people doing something right''- this help people to attain their full potential and he does this by doing one minute praising. The ssecond secret is effective through (a)
telling people ahead that they are under performance probation (b) be specific in telling them what they did right. (c) express how good you feel and the importance of their action to the organisation by
handshaking or touching in a way of appreciation.(d) stop for a moment to
let them feel how good you feel and encorage them to do more of such good.
The third secret of the management style is the'' one minute reprimand'' This secret works well when;
you tell people you are going to let them know what they are doing in no uncertain terms.
be specific in telling people what they did wrong and reprimand immediately
express how you feel about what they did wrong by stoping for a few seconds of uncomfortable silence to let them know how you feel.
practice the second half which involves;
shaking them in a way to let them know you are honestly on their side .
let them realise that you think well of them but not of their performance in this situation
