Continuation My Life - Childhood and the growing years 2
After a year I was transferred again to a private school which
was near to our house, this time I am now in Grade 6. And my brother mike was in kindergarten. In this school my new classmates were arrogant. They bullied me, may be because I came to a public school, and I'm new to them, I want to fight them, but during those days I am thin, short and weak, they dont want me to join in their company, my teacher noticed the treatment I am experiencing to my classmates. And she told them to treat me nicely. But the situation did not change even up to the time I graduated in that school. Luckily I have a mother who comforts me when I'm weeping, I felt a sense of protection, even though I am being bullied in the school, at home I felt peace especially whenever I saw my family. My sister now was born, 3 boys and now a girl. My parents were happy to have a daughter. At this time I am now aware of what was happening in my environment. Political instability,
inflation, the assassination of Ninoy Aquino were the highlights during those times. After summer, classes were opened and I am now at my first year high school. I incurred an accident in going to school, it was afternoon and I was crossing the street, suddenly a car hit me, I was unconcious for a second, but when my conciousness came back blood from my nose was running down to my body. The driver of the car pick me up and taken me to a hospital. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks, and I spend another 2 weeks in the house resting before going back to school. It was also during that summer that I was circumcised, a sign that I am no longer a child. And another chapter in my life was going to unfold, I am now an
adolescent. My hormones were rapidly changing, my physical appearance was transforming.
In my sight and knowledge I have a wonderful family, a parents that love each other. The family is the source of protection, security and belongingness. But what if the foundation of the family was destroyed, the parents who must established a strong family suddenly collapse. The unexpected happened, it was like a storm, a dark cloud in the horizon, full of uncertainty.
