How Great Thou Art?

Book Review by: queen_queen

Is it true that there are miracles happened to believers of
God?
November 1973.  After
my Mom gave
birth to me as the ninth child of the family, I was week old at that
time when she experienced a bad condition in her body, and the finding was a
malignant tumor.
The American surgeon, Dr. Dick, told Dad that Mom’s life is
at stake, she can either be given the chance to live again after the operation
or she may not.  Dad gambled everything
for my mother’s sake. They finalized the date and time of the said procedure Mom would undergo and it was done in Mindanao Sanitarium Hospital.
Knowing that her life is at risk, Mom prayed earnestly to
God that if possible she would be healed and be given a chance to live again even
for one year only for her family’s sake and most especially to her newly born
baby.
After the operation, Mom stayed one month in a private room until
one afternoon, while lying alone on her bed, with eyes closed, suddenly, she felt
something strange, there’s a cool breeze all over the room, she noticed too that
there’s a cold hand touching the part where she was operated. After a few
seconds, she opened her eyes to see who does it. She’s expecting to see
her doctor. But the man is on his way out; he’s about to close the door, and only
the small part of his white arm and hand has seen, wearing a lab gown like but
with a wider opening of his sleeve.
After seeing who touched her, she closed her eyes again.
After an hour, someone tapped her arm as if to say “I’m here to know your
health, how is it?”  When she opened her
eyes, she was surprise to see that its her doctor again.  So she asked her doctor, “Doc, why you visit me
again?”
The surgeon replied, “No. I just came. You know you seemed too
good now. You are very lucky, Esther. This case is seldom happened to patients
like you.  Only few could survive. This is
a miracle! God gave your life back.”
Earlier days of August 2007, my Mom remembered how God had
given her a long extension of her life. She didn’t only live a year as just what she
requested but she saw how her children grown up and built their families and she was able to see her
grandchildren too.
I, the youngest of the family, is one of the important
reasons why Mom prayed unceasingly to God to gave her another life. I'm  33
years old now and Mom saw how I cared my children when she used to live with us every time she would spend her vacation. She really liked to spend her time
with me and we usually went together in church every Sabbath day of the Lord.
She had been an excellent mother to us. She brought us well
where every member of the family is caring, loving, and God fearing also. Yes, there are arguments but this seldom happened, and if there are, everything
is patched up easily.
Mom is precious to our sight. I know…and I could not find a
mother like her.
On August 30, she struggled hard for her life, when she’s
about on the stage of comatose and finally gave way, her last parting words were,
“Lord God, I thank you for choosing me…!”
Everybody cried because we know we will miss her presence
that much. But we are happy to hear to Whom she will be with when she left us.
God had used her. She was an instrument for her children and
to her grandchildren to know God. The most important and the greatest job of every mother
in this world is to tell their children about God and His greatness.
Lord, how great you are?
