THOUGHT-FORMS

The authors'' work serves as much to illustrate the nature of thoughtforms as to explain these in discursive form (although
they do the latter at some length). They point out that the QUALITY of thought determines the COLOR; the NATURE of the thought determines the FORM or shape of the thought-form; and the DEFINITENESS of thought determines CLEARNESS OF OUTLINE. There is a table of colors in the front of the book showing approximations of the colours of different mental/emotional states. The authors also point out that the level at which thoughtforms and vibrations occur, influences how they are, whom they affect, where they go and the like: e.g., solving a math problem will stay at the mental level; a thought at the spiritual level with love and aspiration, or deep unselfish feeling, may rise to the buddhic level, and exert a decided effect on all mental bodies within reach, who are capable of response. The authors also point out that thoughts can only change the vibrations in auras which they are capable of responding to: malice toward the pure-hearted and unselfish returns to the sender, since it is totally incompatible with the intended receiver''s state of existence. The authors then proceed to the main part of the book: the illustrative thoughtforms. These are colored illustrations, as drawn by a clairvoyant who has seen them, or by an artist who had the form described to him. From pure affection to spiritual devotion to anger, greed and ambition; these are depicted the best that the artist could with earthly colours. There are also some illustrations of the thoughtforms generated by three composers'' music as it is played.
