Enjoyable ... fun ... come again... great company ... great craic ... loved every minute of it .. couldnt put it down ...
played to a packed house ... the place was rocking the night away ... it was the dream machine .... hung onto their every word ... their golden words
educated me ... and so on and so on.
I love the enchantment created by
authors on their own work and when they are in a line up rather like The Board it is marvellous to see them up front displaying their extraordinary talents and their giftedness to the audience and their readership ... the wonderful sense of fun
is communicated with great immediacy and the audience is eating out of their hands before you have time to say ... another /best seller/ or who have you sold the rights of your work - recently to a Hollywood mogul or film-maker for a cool million!
Crime Evening with: Mark Bilingham, Graham Hurley, Meg Gardiner and June Hampson were there in full performance talking about their latest books and writing in general tonight and there was a great
discussion ... wonderfully animated ... at the end of this discussion there was loud and continuous clapping ..... for a moment I thought I was in the Theatre and not in the basement of Waterstones Bookstore in Southampton.
There they were all lining up for signed copies by the authors here present ... in fact it was mentioned that the rules about "book signing" vary from country to country and one of the authors fell foul of these rules when he was in Australia ... also he/Mark Billingham had an embarrassing moment they they didnt recognize him and wondered if he had to carry an ID ... possibly his passport ... I love a good joke like many another writer and teacher ...
Very literary ... entertaining and a good night out and worth every penny .. keep on reading ..
