A little boy, Vlad, is often visited by the elf Urelf because the elves'' world needs to be saved. In order to do that he will have to face the "grumbs"- evil creatures that can lie in anyone: a neighbour, a teacher or even a schoolmate.
Dream and reality seem to overlap and in fact this is what a school mate and very good friend of Vlad warns him about.
All sorts of fairy tale happenings with the good an evil aspects are described as perceived through the eyes of a child who sees things in a different light and, endowed with a vivid imagination, creates magic worlds.
