My
fascination for scarf started when I was in collage, I don’t know how
it started, but I just surprised myself
when I discover that my closet
is loaded with this kind of
accessory. Oh, wait, if my memory serves me
right it started when I met Jiny, a Korean friend of mine
(Unfortunately she’s in Seoul
now… I miss hanging out with her, well that’s another story folk’s
ha-ha) that I got this enthusiasm to collect and eventually developed
an impulsive behavior of buying scarf.
For
me having a lot of scarf to choose from in my closet is a blissful
experience. The touch on the fabric, the different colors before my
eyes brings calmness inside me, its kinda therapeutic ha-ha. I got a
dose of comfort just by buying one or two of it, the same comfort I
derive when I relish my fave pesto and smell the aroma of my latte…
Maybe
some people out there don’t have the passion and enthusiasm like I do
for scarf, but looking at the brighter side and at the bigger
picture,
this accessory is very important if you just ponder on its relevance in
your life. Maybe on the surface level some of
you will say, “It’s just an accessory man, what more can you derive
from that small adornment… “But then mind you, scarf is not just your
regular adornment, there’s more you can draw from it that is if you dig
a deeper analysis on the picture.
*scarf*
Scarf
can hide your flaws physically. It’s a way to conceal your
imperfection, a zit on the forehead or a discoloration in your face you
got from the glaring heat of the sun.
For
the fashionable woman, you can use that scarf to highlight your
monochromatic and boring ensemble, to give a twist to an utterly boring
outfit so to speak. It’s a healthful way to liberate a woman whose
fashion sense is locked in her closet. You can use it as a tube, halter
top or even serve as a layering material for a dress. You can use it as
an obi to give your dress a twist, or a headgear if you’re the bohemian
type or whatever you want to do with that ultra flexible accessory.
*SCARF*
On
a deeper sense, letting yourself be veiled with SCARF is another way of
saying your trying to hide even your inner flaws not just your physical
imperfections.
This
sounds pessimistic but it’s entirely true. Looking at the picture, this
SCARF mirrors our present society; we got hordes of individual who
masked their true identity by using an invisible SCARF to cover the
sordid things about them.
It’s the reality no matter how nauseating it may seem.
Did I leave a bad taste in your mouth? Oh sorry… but that’s how I see things in this overly rotten society we live in…
Are you one of those SCARF lovers out there? I must admit, part of me is leading to that phase…
But I hope I can keep hold of my convictions and retain my balance.
It’s hard though especially if your confine in a claustrophobic jungle… if you know what I mean.
