Sitting on the Board and scratching my head wondering how to introduce
English Language and Literature to the team became something of a habit ... until
recently. I was deeply impressed by the Language and Literature Syllabus and
worked hard to encourage each and everyone to support my choice of
Simon Armitage, Carol Ann Duffy and Pam Ayres in no small way but it
wasnt as easy as it seemed ... it wasnt a piece of cake .... the rightwing
so called because of their traditions .... deny there is anything useful in
Pam Ayres apart from her unbelievable accent ... Simon Armitage ... never heard of him ... or doesnt he work for the BBC as a broadcaster ... Carol Ann Duffy a lady or a feminist or something unusal about her sexual stuff ... I tried to blog it all together and fix up a
compromise .... avoid the conflict of ideas and themes and blend English Language and Literature into a composite whole! I did succeed and will do so again but I was reminded that years ago I spotted Yevgeny Yevtushenko in a College/University Library and made this Russian poet my own ... true .. keep on reading ... excellent work in English Language and English Literature ...
