Think Big

Book Review by: mobil

Original Authors: Ben Carson, M.D; Cecil Murphey
This is a follow-up on one of the most inspiring books I have ever read, entitled: ‘Gifted hands', an autobiography of Ben
Carson, a renowned pediatric neurosurgeon. In this book (Think Big), the authors give more details on Carson's life especially his career and his interactions with people. The book gives examples of a wide spectrum of persons he has had the opportunity to interact with, at work and away from work. These persons range from receptionists to surgeons. Carson emphasizes respect for each other, irrespective of one's stature.
Carson attributes his early achievements in life to his Mum who is instrumental in his upbringing. She is able to guide him into becoming well-behaved, smart and intelligent person. At the time, he cannot understand wholly, why his Mum insists on maintaining certain behavioral traits but he appreciates her efforts later in life.
Each letter of the book title: ‘THINK BIG', represents a value of life, which Dr. Carson believes can shape one's life in a positive way, that is, T-Talent, H-Honest, I-Insight, N-Nice, K- Knowledge, B-Books, I-In-depth knowledge, G-God.
