The
Destruction of Mother Earth
The
Judge looked askance at the gathering crowd in the
court. It was a highly sensitive case he was handling. The press had been pressuring him for scoops on the case, but he wouldn''t budge an inch for fear of criticisms from the general public. He wanted to play Pilate and wash his hands off the sordid case, but moral guilt had made him stay on. And now comes the day when the
decision had to be made.
The judge cast a glance at the bedraggled
face of the plaintiff. It was Mother Earth, her whole body still bearing the pockmarks of destruction. The Judge couldn''t bear to look at her and not recall the abuse that she suffered from the hands of the villain. Mother Earth was a horrendous sight. The Judge then looked at the
accused, no pity in his eyes. With a grim face, the Judge banged the gavel to silence the crowd. The clerk of court then cleared his throat to read the decision of the court. The accused was called to hear the verdict. Nations had testified against him and the accused
knew even before that his case was lost. The accused was Man and as he stood there waiting for the decision, he knew that his fate was sealed. He would be judged "Guilty !"
