It''s another week and yes, another day and we wake full of hope and dreams of a better outcome and greater output. Why,
did the Reverend Gentleman not say yesterday that today will be
better than yesterday? Sure it does look like it will be better. So we are up and early and spirits are buoyed up to great heights but oops! the light goes off! Why, that dress is not ironed and I did hope to begin trhis day with a feeling of being on top of the world that only a great-looking dress can give you. Now, what to do? Not that the dress really needed ironing. All I wanted to do ws straighten it out better. Now again what to do? Managae it? Look for something else?
I sit on the bed and try to make a decision and, well you know how this is with several dresses and not knowing which can fit with the additional bulges and all! It really is difficult choosing what to waer and just when a choice is made, the light has to go off. Well, decision time and time''s really running out and I''ve got that emails to send as well and meetings to attend which are early is you ask me. Why won''t these guys understand that some wardrobe decisions have to be made? Really!
I decide eventually and grab something else that I am not sure fits the bill (of looking great remember) and I dash off. Morale drops one notch. I call on my knowledge of Norman Vincent Peale and all the younger generations of people of his trade. I feel better and I tell myself that I look great. It does not matter. Work has to be done and goals have been set.
So off to the office. Still no electricity. Even at the office? At this time? I sit down for an hour, two hours...My
meeting is at 11 am. So I dash off, yes without any cdocument and yes everyone appeared without a single document. Why because there was no electricitty anywhere. Was I happy? I am not sure but I do know that my goals are crashing right before me and the day has barely gone halfway.
The meeting begins. Everyone has excuses for one uncompletedd assignment or another. There was no lectricity and where there was, the photocopier did not work. The messenger was late tpo deliver the letter so half of the people who should be at the meeting are not there (do those of us who were there have anything to do?), the directors in charge had to dash off on another assignment and so his "second" would take his place (but oh no the second has not been briefed and so we need to brief him properly), and on and on and on. After two hours of excuses, the meeting had to be postoned (unavoidably please). But do all appreciate that we really have to work under very difficult circumstances. These guys (the staff) are really great guys but they have nothing to work with! We hoe everyone understands.
It is lunch break (perhaps this is what the big ones like me are waioting for or not waiting for when we wish to diet thank you! So we have lunch ...huge plates ...huge plates of food shared by over 10 people...ooops! the light is gone off again and I cannot continue...A productive day it''s been if you ask me.
