Technology has its way of being dynamic. It''s a matter of fact that everyone can''t catch up to it. One day you''re up to
date and then the next you''re behind.
About two decades ago, we would spend a lot of money to buy those little game cartridges for our NES. After a few years, Sega Genesis and Super NES came out, with even more expensive game cartridges!
All the money we spent on these
consoles for games were quite large if we accumulate the total costs. When we think about all the money we spent, we feel disappointed. We could have used it now to buy something we need more, or something worth it. But when we think about all the games on all the past consoles can be downloaded from the internet for free, words can''t describe what we feel! We get mixed emotions. We may feel happy because we can get whatever games we missed in our consoles before. But we may also feel furious at the fact that all that money we spent was a total waste. Whatever the emotion or outcome, we know that we are mocked by technology.
Almost everything can be downloaded from the internet nowadays. Any file, let it be music, pictures, videos, or games can be acquired through the net.
The question now is: do we have to buy this object which is most likely coming off from the net for free? Think about it. Imagine yourself buying a new
gaming platform, the Xbox 360. You buy all the original games at full prices. But chances are you can get those games from the net absolutely free. Most people opt to buy the original games, thinking that downloading can be a hassle. But if you know where to look it can really be easy, as long as you have the necessary equipment (i.e. fast internet connection, DVD burner).
In the end, it''s just a matter of choice really.
