At the beginning of the seventeenth century, the
Indian population in North America was estimated about 9,5 millions.
Three
centuries after, only remain 500 000 survivors. So, the United States of
America were born on the genocide of 9 millions of Indians, in three centuries.
It was not a genocide as Shoah was, technical and fast, a speed genocide, but
it was though a genocide. A Sunday genocide, times to times, as hunting
parties, during years and years, without reprieve. Starvation, bull massacre,
epidemy, fanaticism, flora
devastation,
acculturation… came to overcame a
pacific people who greeted the invaders as God messengers. Then, it is
interesting to observe that lot of the emigrants were deported exactly because
of the same persecution: starving (in Ireland for example), fanaticism, (the
Mayflower and the pilgrim) acculturation and flora devastation, misery and
prostitution… These innumerable broadcasted disasters in Europe, over the
ocean, follow the pilgrim and the others and a short time after, came to
exterminate the unhappy Indians and overcame a culture, a people, an entire
country as the migrant were in Ireland, in Scotland, in old Europe. Now, where
grown green meadow with bulls and bulls, they are sky scraper and factories and
highway and skud missiles and supersonic planes… and a huge cemetery of nine
millions of men and women. A paradigm of the new wave.
