It was the end of autumn season. Winter had set in. There was not greenery anywgere. birds and sqyirreks had gone back ot theiir nests. Everything seemed to be deserted. But te knight-at-arms was wandering alone. He looked pale, sicjand mentally disturbed. There were drops of sweat on his face.
The poet asked him the cause of hismental disturbance. The knight said that he had meat a beautiful lady in the gtass land. She wa a woman of gtreat bearty. She looked like a failry. She had long hair. Her gait was very bautiful and her eyes were big and attractive. The knight offere her ornaments made of flowers. She looked at the knight as if she were in love with him. Then the knioght put the lady on his horse and wandered all the day in her company.
During th ride the lady sang a fairy''s song. Then she took him to a fairy''s cave. She wept bitterly to show her love for the knight. The knight planted fout kkisses on her beautfyl eyes. She set th knight to sleep by singing a song.
In his sleep ,the knight had a dream. In his dream, he saw pale kings, princes and warriors. They were as pale as death. They warned the knight that he had been decieved by a beautiful lady without mercy. They advised him to learn a lesson from their experience and be careful about the tricks of the lady.
The knight was shaken out of his sleep in fear. There was no lady and no cave. He found himself on the cold hill side.
Since then he had been looking for the beatiful lady who had derted him. She could not be found. As a result, he lost his peace of mind. That is why he looked miserable.
