‘Baby Bush’, the 43rd president of United States, has earned the unusual distinction where people
either adore him or hate him, but no one can close the eyes to him or his doings.
When an American politician was asked in a television interview, as to how in his view George W. Bush would be remembered as a president, a prompt response came from him, “I hope he is never kept in mind at all,”
The two books under review include one “Warrior-King” written by Bush haters. In fact one has made a complete legal case of impeachment of President Bush for violating the United States constitution. In “Warrior-king”, the case for Impeaching George W. Bush, John C. Bonifaz states a serious court challenge brought against the president of the United States on the eve of the Iraq War. The goal, to stop the war was not only wrong but one that was also in violation of the United States’ constitution. The innermost argument of the book is described by author as “A king may lie and, by using that lie, the king, on his own, has the power to send his sovereignty into war. A president may also lie, but a president alone cannot use that lie to start a war… By allowing the president to make the doggedness of whether or not to launch an invasion of Iraq… Congress unlawfully permitted the president to use whatever evidence- or whatever lies- he chose as the basis for sending the state into war.”
“The Lies of George W. Bush” by David Corn, Washington editor of The Nation and Fox News contributor has 14 chapters, each devoted wholly to one lie widely uttered by the president. The 15th and last chapter has been titled ‘how he gets away with it’. This book is full of well researched information about more or less all the controversial issues surroundings George W. Bush. The writing style is friendly and long-drawn-out.
