Official booklet on The British Army Fitness Programme ... so you need worry no more about that health check.  
Start at day one and work through it one day at a time .... the copy I picked up free with The Guardian is on the Upper Body and looks at the way to keep in trim.
Specific upper body warm-up exercises involves a lot of stretching up and down and into your chest ... pictures are provided . The Definitive Army press up suggests you lie on your front and dig your hands into the floor or ground beneath you and do a press up ... if like me you are fortunate enought to have a soft mat ... then all the better use it .. mine doesnt slip about the place ... so its quite safe.
The perfect pull up reminds me of St Columbans College in Ireland where I was No 1 in working on the barr ... so if like current time you dont have a barr .... what I do is sit down on the mat and stretch to touch my toes .. mind the back and wear something comfortably supportive.
Back to the British Army Fitness Programme Booklet .. it offers The definitive Army dip.
Training with weights and resistance bands  and dont forget to cool down

I workout a lot in the winter out of doors and caught the inevitable chesty cold ... take your medicine as I have done and everything is just perfect ...
