The Bible is an inspirational source to all of us who look for answers to an otherwise complicated life. God uses examples, stories, signs, parables, prophesys to encourage us and to bring us hope and also to warn us and convict us of wrong doing. That''s the two edged sword theory. <

In this passage where the call to leadership is sent out to Moses, then 70 years old to
lead over 6million Isrealites out of Egypt into the wilderness is a daunting and unimaginable prospect. Looking at this scenario in the present context; would a 70 year old man have the ability to lead a small nation out of bondage and into 40 years of wilderness journeying all for the sake of a promised land that they cannot even see? God teaches us in this very passage that with Him anything is possible and His path is real.
Moses'' character if analysed is one that is timid, frail, a man with a stutter with questionable communication abilities and an introvert. But then Moses'' early years were spent in the very palace of the Pharoahs, where he was
adopted by the then Pharoah''s barren sister and brought up as an Egyptian prince. For anyone this would be a
miraculous blessing but then when Moses realized he was adopted and he belonged to the
slave nation he made the choice to give up his princely life for one of servitude. Is it any wonder then that God called Moses to lead His people out of captivity?
This
story has importance to our world today even though this mass exodus began well over 2500 years ago. Aren''t we all looking for leaders with integrity? Leaders who can
change the course of our lives and break the bonds of slavery? After all, slavery comes in many forms. This call to leadership might even be for you and me. In modern times Nelson Mandela was the 20th century Moses, who, being a slave, spoke out against aparthied, was tortured, imprisoned, persecuted and then triumphed to become the world''s most influential politician, and abolished aparthied once and for all.
If you live in a country that suffers under the cloud of opression, look at the example God gave us in Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, etc. With God anything is impossible. The Bible is not a story book, its a living word, one that can change nations.
