Over the Christmas holidays I have found myself with the time to practise German
on the internet and I was reminded of the
fun it was years ago as a teenager
writing to my friend in Munich .. and how much we all enjoyed those innocent
exchanges by letter on a monthly basis.
I
suppose that is how the foreign languages interest is maintained and even
though we all read the German
Literature in
translation when one has time
its fun to get on with the translation and do a bit of the work oneself.
The last time I was in German speaking Europe was in 2005 in Vienna Austria and
I had spent some time in advance preparing for this Exchange in German. However, I was surprised and delighted to discover that my preparation was worth it .. and that
I got to my Vienna destination without too much bother. I suppose so many of the signs and sounds are
international that its a lot easier these
days than it was in those crazy days of the 1960s ... Great literature and
language exchanges over the years .. keep it up .. excellent stuff!
