We join the story of Marley and Me where John and his new wife Jenny just getting to grips with life as a couple and thinking
of taking a step in the direction of starting a family. But before they do Jenny thinks it’d be a good idea if they got a dog first. If they could handle a dog they could do kids
right?
So off they go and answer an ad in the paper stating Lab puppies for sale. Picking the less timid of the bunch they decide on calling the new family member Marley after their love of Bob.
We soon find out that Marley is quite the bonkers dog and will destroy pretty much everything in his path and even gets thrown out of obedience school.
I was
brought this book as a birthday present and I have to admit that it isn’t the sort of book that I would have picked up off the shelf myself. I have to say I am very pleased that I was brought this though. It is extremely well written and John and Jenny let you right into their life with Marley and it follows them over the years as their family expands. Seen through the eyes of John and Marley we see how special a bond can become between the two and by the end of the book you will be very touched too.
I would recommend this book to anyone.
