AMÉRICA Lyrical anthology of an obstinated
sentiment is a selection of love statements
to América Football Club, from the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, published by lots of twisting alongside of the time, and organized by an Editoral Comission composed of 7 members and leaded by Fernando Bastos do Valle, all great names from the history of the team. This publishment is an historical edition to celebrate the centennial (1904-2004) of this “carioca” sportive association, recognized as one of the most traditional and sympathetic of the country.
It has 187 texts, some pictures, some testimonials of distinguished twisting as Gilberto Braga, novel writer, the poet João Cabral de Melo Neto, the great composer, broadcaster and humorist Lamartine Babo (author of many team hymnes of Rio de Janeiro including the America F. C. ), the ex-player and ex- coach from the national soccer team Mário Jorge Lobo Zagallo, Marques Rebelo (writer,
jornalist and advertiser), the jornalist, novelist, Orígenes Lessa, Dona Ivone Lara, singer and composer of brazilian popular music, and other great names from the life of this team located in Tijuca, a bohemian district in Rio. As well as anonymous, but not less enthusiast an excited “americans”. This lyrical anthology is a mark in the history of the team, in spite of some misfortunes, because shows your greatness, yours conquests, manifested by the
sentiment of twisting from all kinds and social classes, between sensitive, true, fond or realistic reports about this glorious sportive institution. Finally, is also a kind of portrait of a warring and suffered twisting, but extremely faithful.
