Lincoln Rhyme returns as the paralysed forensic
criminologist guiding his partner Amelia
Sachs in tracking down their newest foe. The Vanished Man opens with a
murder of a student and with the killer trapped in a
room surrounded but when they bust in they found the room empty. The murderer taunts Rhyme and Sachs with his skills as an illusionist to pull off
murders and disappear on the blink of an eye. To catch him they must seek help in removing
the smoke and mirrors to try and bring him to justice.
Another page turner from Jeffery Denver that keeps the pace at breakneck speed.
Denver’s Lincoln Rhyme novels have made a big impact in the Crime writing world and his
book the Bone Collector has been adapted into a film starting Denzel Washington and
Angelina Jolie. It’s easy to see why as when reading The Vanished Man you can picture it
so clearly as a major Hollywood blockbuster.
