Dafydd Woodruff''''s life is torn to shreds when he receives a letter from a thirteen year old
claiming to be his daughter. He is told that he fathered twins when he worked in a remote
town of Moose Creek fifteen years earlier. He knows it is not true but DNA tests don''''t lie!
As his marriage is in jeopardy and his career as a surgeon is under threat, he decides to
return to the sub-Artic to try and make sense of why anyone would hate him enough to try
and destroy his life.
I think this book gives a real feeling of the isolation of Moose Creek and the penetrating
cold which affects all aspects of life there. At times I felt quite annoyed at the main
character, Dafydd, as I felt he should have stood up for himself a bit more but I liked the
way Sewell brings all her characters to life. I felt as though I knew them all personally by
the end of the story. Ice Trap was an easy read which held my interest and I would certainly recommend it. Write your abstract here.
