Digital Fortress

Book Review   by:Rich2809     Original Author: Dan Brown
ª

On the back of Digital Fortress the following is written, ''''DIGITAL FORTRESS When the National Security Agency’s invincible code-breaking machine encounters a mysterious code it cannot break, it calls in its head cryptographer, Susan Fletcher. What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power. The NSA is being held hostage – not by guns or bombs, but by a code so complex that if released would cripple U.S. intelligence''''. It sounds good but this book fails on so many levels. The CIA is as usual depicted as a bunch of incompetent fools. We are asked to suspend all belief as alarms go off in a high security compound and are never answered, it is just a silly book and a terrible disappointment.

    Digital Fortress Review

I agree totally with this review. I liked Dan Brown's other books, but I found this one to be almost silly and totally not credible. Was it his first effort? Seems like it. Anyone with even a slight knowledge of computers, technology, NSA, etc., will be annoyed by reading it.
