A delicious novel passed in the years after the 25 of April... For all the
teenagers or those who want to relive the teenagers years... The disapointments of the first love, the need of afirmation in front of the
group, the problems teenagers face at school, the ephemeral friendships that we think that are for life, the chauvinist society that sets free men and imprisons women, among others, are some of the issues adressed ( in a most excellent way) by Inês Pedrosa. The story revolves arround Cláudia, the main character, and the group of
friends which she belongs to. Cláudia dates with Ricardo, the lider of the group. Cláudia is happy, resolved and
loves the latest music fashion (pop) and parties. In the meanwhile, on a sudden
day, she falls in love for Dinis, her best friend''s brother. Dinis is the opposite: profoundly melancholic and disillusioned with the feminine sex, he doesn''t belong to her group of friends, he''s older and loves classical music and old movies. Dinis completely abominates Cláudia''s life style. Throughout the book we see how Cláudia ends up leaving behind all the things and people she loves and that are familiar to her to dedicate herself entirely to this passion. But Dinis, although of being also in love with Cláudia, can''t erase old memories and keeps hurting Cláudia day after day. They end up not being a couple, just
lovers! How could the love of these two survive? How can a relationship between them work? The book tells, as well, several paralel stories of other characters: Mariana, the little fat girl that kills herself (did she really killed herself?); Teresa the uncomprehended, that is constantly putting herself down and dreams with an unreal prince; Isabel, who is beautiful but
lives a relation of constant humiliation with her boyfriend, and has no friends; Ana Carolina, the tutor, who finds herself very well educated but lives with the desillusion of a failed international romance; among others. Without a doubt a book not to miss.
