initiative will legalize
Cannabis Hemp for (a) industrial products,
(b) medicinal preparations, (c) nutritional
products, (d) religious
and spiritual
products, and (e) recreational and euphoric use and
products” (Herer 1). Jack Herer, the author of “The Emperor
Wears No Clothes.” But why is this such a Hot topic in America
today? Other than a hand full of Hippies, Pot Heads, and teen age
slackers, few of us truly know the potential uses
Cannabis can have
in our every day lives. On the other hand, the Local and Federal
Government agencies would have to admit they are wrong.
Which is next
to imposable for a human ruling power to do. Remember Galileo was not
bought back in to the church for 400 years after his death. America
is facing the same kind of hurt pride should this initiative was to
pas, for “It will also include amnesty, immediate release from
prison, jail, parole, and probation, and clearing, expungement, and
deletion of all criminal records for all persons currently charged
with, or convicted of any non-violent cannabis hemp marijuana
offense” (Herer1). America can''t have the for our culture is set
against forgiveness. Because once we forgive some one we raise them
up to our level, and the descendants of John Calvin''s Protestant
Christians love to feel like they are better than others.
As I read through Jack Herer''s web
page I found that he seems to be passionate about his cause. However,
it is not as clear to me what his motivations are. He writes as is he
as done his homework, but the pictures of the man tell me he may have
smoked his fare share of the stuff himself.
Still he is correct when he says:
“revolutions demands great sacrifice,” and puts out a call for
all who are willing to join in his fight. I never smoked or have done
any kind of drugs, not even aspirin. However, I do see some logic in
what he is saying. For if we did convert over to more if not all Hemp
products, we word save on the decay of our environment.
