Matruvani is a
spiritual monthly published in different languages of the world by Mata Amritanandamayi Mission Trust, Amritapuri, Kerala, India. Its Kannada edition completed a decade of its existence in February 2008.
Matruvani disseminates the message of Mata Amritanandamayi to the whole world. She is reverentially called Amma (Mother) for she showers
love on the entire
mankind which is undergoing a period of turmoil, turbulence and lack of
peace. This world has everything to offer to mankind, but love has become a rare commodity. Many a soul withers unseen deprived of love of its fellow-beings. Amma lays great emphasis on
universal love, peace and
service to mankind. Be it earthquake, tsunami, flood or drought in any part of the globe, Amma’s service to the affected people is always forthcoming in a timely and touching manner. For Amma understands the agony of makind better than many heads of States. She lives and speaks the language of love which is understood by people of various faiths. She knows no caste, creed, sex or national barriers. Amma is greeted with love, admiration and smile wherever she goes, for this very reason.
Matruvani contains Amma’s spiritual messages,
articles of her senior disciples who were moulded by her, short stories for children, and a brief account of her multifarious activities undertaken all over the world, every month. For the benefit of readers, it also includes Amma’s itinerary of each month. One could see that all the articles contained in Matruvani are written in a simple language elucidating profound spiritual thoughts; they are touching, inspiring and enlightening. The greatness of Indian culture and the principles of love and service to mankind are reflected in its pages.
For people groping in spiritual darkness and forlornness, Amma’s Matruvani is surely a beacon light. Long live Amma and her sacred mission of elevating mankind!
