"Love means never having to say you''''re sorry". This
book was published in 70s.
Story is set in US, its a Love Story between
a rich boy and poor girl. For those who comment "whats the big deal in
that, its same in all
books/movies".Would like to tell that Its an old
book and has been inspiration for many movies/books. What makes it
special is you will identify with characters in the book on more than
one occasion whether its Jenny,Oliver Barret,Oliver''''s
dad or Jenny''''s
dad.
In short its Love story between Oliver Barret and
Jenny studying in Harward and Radcliffe. As you go on
reading it, you
realize that more than the story its the characters which stand out.
You get a feeling that you are there, in other words you have become
part of the story as a silent spectator.
End will move you even if you are stone hearted and
person with "I don''''t care" attitude. I have read this book few times
and I can tell this will be one of the books that I will keep reading
without getting bored. Its a small book of around 100 odd pages which
you will finish it in one sitting if you are a reader and might take
couple of days if you are a newbie :).
I will not classify it as a classic/great book and
expose myself for brickbats. For those who have not read it I suggest
you read it and for those who have already read it all I can say is its
worth another read anytime.
Happy reading to all the TechMighties who might be
Oliver or Jenny in heart. There will be few seniors who might be
Oliver''''s or Jenny''''s Dad in heart.. happy reading to them too.
Note: This is the first
review I am writing, hence i
hope you will be supportive and not too harsh :) Erich Segal wrote
Oliver''''s Story after few years as a sequel to Love Story. If my first
review is found to be good enough I will come out with review for
Oliver''''s Story too.
