DH Laurence and his
writing activities are a great asset to the tradition of writing in English and there are many novels
and stories that I have read and taught in the connection of the
writing of DH Laurence ... Laurence was known as"working class" but as a writer he had a genius for discussing the taboo ...sex in the
period of the last century.Interestingly enough although much is known about DH Laurence and his books are well documented it wasnt until I was in Ireland years ago that we touched on the taboo of sex .... as the books were great in themselves but apparently sex was an issue in the period in which DH Laurence wrote and he suffered a lot as a result of breaking that taboo.It may seem like "old hat" to bother about the issues but even today I still cling to the "shy" writer notion as a poet as I too have been subject to the taboo on sex ... DH Laurence writing great tradition in English .... so I am including "sex" in my poems today ... in 2008 ...
