Just returned from a
trip to Switzerland, Henriette Letore visited her younger
sister, Julie Robere. One night when the moon was shining, she went out alone and burst out into tears due to the sadness brougt about by the fact that her husband''s indifference and insensitivity towards her needs. She was comforted by a
young barrister they had met from the travel, who came out when she was weeping. They exchanged conversation and Henriette was soothed by the young
man''s company until the nigt ended. In the end, Julie told her sister, who was then crying, that it was not the man she loved but love itself, it was the
moonlight which was her real lover
