Sometimes the
heart can makes us so insensitive, or
totally conduct us
trough this way, just to acumulate richness, or the power that comes with it, throwing us to the darkest of passions, as mist obstructing our thoughts; in case of the abominable Kurtz, the beatiful vein of fossil ivory and the being of an hipnotical
personality will make him loose reason in a
place enchanted by nature''s exhuberance and by the inocence of
natives blinded by that incomparable personality. Congo will be the place that young capitan Marlow will walk trough, at unwelcoming places, sinuous, totally abandoned or, by parts by supersticious natives, and full of ghosts that will not reach the horror lived by those natives in front of the presence of invaders that quietly act as real predators. The fluvial company was going to choose the ideal man to fullfill the marketing task; the natives will take him as a sent person, the closest to a god, and at the moment he got sick they placed sacrifices as protective heads around his house, and he would have believed it, until making himself the absolut owner of the native''s precious treasure, despite of the company''s loyal rights. What that doctor that measure Marlow''s head size said was true: "it would be iinteresting for science to watch the mental changes of individuals, on the spot" What Kurtz never thought, and less than anyone, the company, it was that that place will swallow that brilliant mind and make it a spen. He will die like many others that dare to stand in front of the wonderful exotic jungle, full of misteries in the heart of
darkness itself.
