I want to share with you this preaching of Pasto Jose Sisante, a Filipino pastor in our community. This was entitled, “What
is that in your hand?” Sometimes, we treated ourselves that we do not have anything to offer to God. But God do not push us to those we so not have, He uses us by means of what we have. To Moises, he only had an ordinary staff but God did a lot of things to that staff of Moises. As you can recall the history in the bible in the book of exodus, through that staff. God turned the Nile river to blood, brought a plague of frog, dust turned into gnats. Fire thunder and hail fell, brought a plague of locust, divided the Red sea, struck a rock and water flowed. When held high in the air they prevailed in the battle. For David, he had a sling in his hand that killed the giant Goliath. A widow had enough food for one more meal and God
bless her with more food. A little boy had a lunch and thousands of people were fed. Mary had a jar of precious perfume and until now she still mention for what she did for Jesus. Hannah had a small child in her hand and God bless her. There are three areas of involvement, first is time, something which we all have equal amount of 86,400 second a day. Second is money, hard to give to which you worked hard for and the third is
effort, most people do not go to church on a Sunday for a month or even a year. We should take time for God because it is life only lasting investment. Take time to pray because it draws you closer to God. Take time to worship because it is what the angels do all day long. Take time to love others which God had commanded us to do so. God did not intend to let us work, but he intends to provide for us. We must be obedient to God’s words because obedience is the key of wealth. It takes effort to serve God. It takes effort to swim against the current and serve God. There are three things to remember about this preaching. First, god cannot use what we have until we let go. Second,. God will not ask us to use something we don’t have. Last , we will never know the full potential of what we have until we allow God to have full control of it. Do your best and God will take care of the rest. Let Christ be the center of your life and He will take care of the circumference. You have the life, offer it to God as a living sacrifice. You have the talent? Allow it to be use by God. Join the Church Ministry that you think you have the potential and serve God faithfully and allow God to use what is that in your hand? God Richly Bless You!
