Jessi Ramsey is a sixth grader who decides to take part in the Annual Follies. Jessi is forced by her friends and teachers
to play the part of her Short Takes teacher whom everyone makes fun of. Jessi is sure that her portrayal of Mr. Trout will insult him but nevertheless everyone encourages her to go ahead. What’s worse is that Jessi is also
forced to take part in all the pranks her classmates pull on Mr. Trout. The day of the Follies soon arrives and the concert is a huge success. However, immediately after the concert, Mr. Trout leaves school without any explanation. Jessi, who is sure that it was her fault,
writes him a letter asking him to come back. After some days, Mr. Trout writes back, explaining that it had nothing to do with her and her imitation of him in the Follies.
