Eragon is the first book of the inheritance trilogy. The book is like Harry Potter because there is a lot magic; a villain who claims himself king and the world is not safe. There is a group of gifted people called Dragon Riders who have magical abilities and have Dragons which are not there pets but are like there companions. It is full of hardcore action and adventure.
Eragon is a fifteen year old boy who lives with his uncle and his cousin Roran. His family is suffering from lack of food. He finds a sapphire stone n a forest and hopes that he can sell it. But nobody will buy it. He meets the local story teller Brom whom he runs of with, after the stone hatching and becoming a dragon that he named Saphira and his village being attacked by the Ra’zac. Brom tells Eragon that he to is a Dragon Rider whos dragon was killed. Brom teaches Eragon in the way of the sword and also gives him one; Zar’roc it is supposed to have left a lot of blood in its wake. He finds Murtagh after Brom dies another boy slightly older than him and they train together. He is the son of Morzan a deadly Dragon Rider and a supporter of the evil villain Galbatorix.
Lucky for us Morzan is dead. He was so bad even Murtagh hates him (that’s mostly because Morzan gave him a nasty scar on his back when he was a kid). Their plan was to go safely to the Varden and evade the Ra’zac while doing so (the Varden is a group of people who helps Riders). While going to the Varden they meet Arya an elf who is dying. The Shade who is trying to kill them doesn’t make going to the Varden any easier than it already was. They finally got to the Varden, but they still weren’t safe, there was one last battle. Unfortunately after that battle Ajihad, the leader of the Varden and Murtagh were missing. That’s all I can tell you otherwise I would be writing the whole book. Oh yeah using magic is not as easy as it seems because it drains your energy and if you use a spell which is too powerful you can kill yourself.
