Can we fulfill our needs
According to Maslow, there are five levels of needs which
are termed as “Hierarchy of needs”. Are
you able to fulfill your needs. What
kind of needs you would like to fulfil and what kind of needs would you like to
sacrifice?
The hierarchy of needs specifies five levels of nees:
Ø
Physiological needs
Ø
Safety Needs
Ø
Social Needs
Ø
Self Esteem needs
Ø
Self actualization
Analysing the physiological needs, those persons who are
always on the look out for these needs.
He is always interested in good food and continuously talks about the
same. There are people who may be
interested in good accommodation and attractive clothes. Once they satisfy
themselves with the needs, they can’t move ahead. So, they are just limited to the physiological
needs.
Once we fulfill our basic needs, safety needs follow. Can we live safely, free from accidents, free
from natural calamities and other dangers surrounding our lives. If people go think about these needs, they
can’t achieve better things in life.
Social needs come once physiological and safety needs are
fulfilled. People want to mingle with
others. They want to share the feelings intimately, both good things as well as
bad things.
Self esteem needs imply people want to get recognition for
extraordinary things achieved by them.
Self actualization is the highest level in the hierarchy of needs. People want to do anything to achieve an
enviable position. Great leaders in
India achieved this needs. They
sacrificed personal happiness, social needs, and self esteem needs and they
just work single-mindedly towards achieve very extraordinary goal in
lives. They may relate to religion,
politics or scientific achievement.
From Chrorepati to Roadpati, whatever kind of human being
one belongs, basic needs rank top most attention. Chrorepati won’t have a peaceful sleep as his
enjoyment endures for 3 days only. From fourthe day onwards, several types questions perturb his
mind.
Can you just imagine what kind of needs, a roadpati (those
who can’t afford to have even basic needs of life).
