KNOWLEDGE
This is a summary of my understanding, critiques and ideals on knowledge. I have seen that many of these concepts of knowledge are already covered in various excerpts of my previous undertaking regarding life, titled "some."
The bold text is one such excerpt.
To try and understand anything, we must first study the first instance we became aware of it; knowledge is no different. I understand knowledge to be ethereal, something bestowed to lesser beings by a much more superior one. Whether one prefers Allah, God or simply the cosmos (a term I use to encompass all that is - without making the distinction between good and evil) is irrelevant, as prescribed earlier my understanding came from the Bible.
The Bible seemingly portrays knowledge as a powerful entity, one that transcends time, space and existence. I'm not sure whether the term omniscient is actually in the Bible, but we garner such a concept regarding God, the muse behind its authors. For arguments sake, let us take that implicit suggestion as absolute truth, that God is all knowing. In the least, we the human race could have an awareness of knowledge - following the generally accepted assumption that we are made in His image. Regardless, the question to ask is in what context is knowledge power? I may know that the absolute value of 1+1=2, but that is hardly of any consequence. I say consequence because knowledge, power and consequence have an odd relationship that we shall revisit. Is God's knowledge without consequence? I think not, and the reason is another…Adam.
THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE. THE DOWNFALL OF MANKIND BEGINS HERE. ADAM, NO DOUBT THE EPITOME OF THE HUMAN RACE RELEGATED OUR SOVEREIGNTY TO AN EXISTENCE OF SEPARATION FROM OUR CREATOR, AND SUBSEQUENTLY INTRODUCED THE CONSEQUENCE OF MORTALITY. IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO ARGUE THAT ADAM’S PREDICAMENT WAS SCRIPTED, A TEST IF YOU MAY. A STAGE WAS SET IN WHICH THERE COULD BE ONLY TWO OUTCOMES – GLORY OR DISHONOUR. THERE IS NO ESCAPING THE REASON WHY THIS TREE OF KNOWLEDGE WAS PUT WITHIN THE MAN’S GRASP, WHY IT WAS SEEMINGLY SO EASY FOR HIM TO DISOBEY, TO SIN. THE FACT THAT ONE CAN ARGUE ADAM DID NOT INTEND TO SIN, THAT HE DID NOT ACTIVELY SEEK THE FRUIT IN A CLANDESTINE AND AVARICIOUS MANNER MEANS NOTHING. HIS DISOBEDIENCE BORE WRATH AND EXILE FROM HIS MASTER…WE GARNERED NO REAL KNOWLEDGE FROM HIS PARTAKING OF THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT; AS TIME PASSES BY, MORE QUESTIONS ARISE AND OUR INABILITY TO ANSWER THEM ONLY CONFIRMS OUR INFIRMITY, OUR FALLIBILITY AND OUR DELUSION. KNOWLEDGE IS PERIPHERAL, A GRAIN OF SAND IN THE DESERT THAT IS SENTIENCE…
What can be extrapolated from the above is this: God is knowledge (true and absolute), knowledge is power, and consequence has dominion over all without power. Adam's choice to partake in the forbidden fruit was pegged to a consequence because he had no power. The stage was already set for the outcome of his choice whether he was aware of it or not…set by the Creator.
So now that it can be argued that knowledge is divine, what next? Is its transmission possible from one plane of existence to another? I believe so, though I do not know so. I believe for example, that God spoke to Adam, Enoch, Abraham, Job and all the great personalities to whom an actual conversation is alluded to. Now whether God uses a medium (angels/visions) or communicates directly through spoken word is extraneous to the point. Is the knowledge we have a corruption of the knowledge of God? Mankind has corrupted just about everything God has put under his authority, why would knowledge be any different? If indeed His knowledge is corrupted in our awareness or understanding, then I propose that knowledge does not exist. What we perceive now and ascribe as knowledge is a vestige of true knowledge, a corrupted image in the same way mankind is a corrupted image of God. Can you see God when you look in the mirror? Can you honestly see Him knowing full well your passions, ideals, perversions, biasness, tractability…your essence?
Now that we can distinguish between divine knowledge and the abomination we the human race peddle around, it is time to look deeper into the latter, as it is most pertinent to us, its creators.
