The Iliad is one of the two fantastic books written by Homer. When the Trojan prince Paris abducts Helen, a greek princess,
her husband Menelaus is engraged. He forms a huge army with his brother, Agamemnon and attack the walls of Troy which had never been breached. Achilles, the best and haughtiest warrior in the Greek side goes with them.
The largest fleet in the world is sent by Menelaus and Achilles storms onto the beach of Troy, killing and capturing. The Trojan beach was lost.
Achilles withdrew from the battle after an argument with Agamemnon and watches the Greek troopes being pushed away from the walls by the skilled Trojan archers.
Later, Achilles' brother joins the war without Achilles' permission, wearing his armour and using his weapons. The Trojan prince Hector kills him and realises that he had killed the wrong man.
Achilles' temper knows no bounds and he defeats Hector in a showdown and drags is body to his tent on the beach. King Priam later takes way the body on Achilles' permission and burns his son's body.
The war continues with the Greek side unable to break down the walls.
